Default you are not buying a warranty.... you are just pre-paying for some oil changes an pollen filters

maintenance is not warranty. Maintenance is changing the oil filter, pollen filter, DSG juice & filter, haldex juice etc. These are not failing items... they are maintenance items which audi was giving away for free (part of purchase price before) but now they are asking that you pay for your own filters and oil. They are NOT selling cars without warranties.

Audi is giving you teh easy way out $550 pays for the maintenance needs for the 4 years 50k... Its a wise choice to make, on practically any model you would be a fool to not take it.

If your DSG gearbox stops operating at 48k and you havent had it serviced at the 35k interval then you might have a problem because that could be the cause of the failure. Then you might be asked to pay for the new gearbox and the labor to install it. But thats because you neglected to meet the cars maintenance needs.

Exactly. Audi will become like virtually any other car maker out there. Mercedes did it not long ago

The "chief Audi rival BMW" will drop theirs too from 2007.

Default The local Honda dealer here will extend the warranty to 100k miles on a new Honda if you have all

the routine maintenance done at their facility.
