Every dealer will try and rip you off these days, however good they are.
If they try and deny you of anything, just make sure you know your rights.
The important ones under UK law are:
When you buy the car/object:
Sale of Goods Act 1979:
S13 - Goods must match description
S14(2) - Must be of satisfactory quality
s14(3) - Must be fit for purpose
And if you are having work done/stuff repaired:
Sale of Goods and Services Act 1982:
S3 - goods supplied/work done must be as described
S4 - must of of satisfactory quality/fit for purpose
S13 - work must be done with reasonable care and skill
S14 - must be done in a reasonable time
S15 - if no £ decided, must be reasonable and relative to other work
They can't exclude any of these rights as you are a consumer of their product. If they screw any of it up, you can demand a hell of a lot depending on the circumsances. They risk you hauling thier asses to court otherwise.
Hope this helps.

Si

the problem is i seem to have a colour defect on the trim where the tailgate lock is. audi say because it is a trim it is not covered by the 12 year cover on the body work. 2 profesional body shops looked at it and agreed that audi should do something about it, but yet they refuse.

Perforation means there actually has to be a hole in the panel from rust.
Only once have I ever seen them do something about it when it was not a hole. Actually its the only time I ever saw someone even make a claim. It was a brand new 4 motion passat wagon only about 3 months old that started to rust from around the rear window seal.. Since this was pretty much the most expensive car Vw had sold in the US at the time they did it for the customer... but thats it.
