im trying to find an adapter to make a AUX input or iphod integration to go with my iPhone 3G. i know very little about stereo crap other than i have an Concert stereo in my '06 A3...
i have sirius satellite, but im getting rid of the thing (if someone wants to buy it, works fine, best offer) and i dont care about charing or anything, i just want good sound quality
after research i found a "Dice iPod i-AUDI-R Integration Kit" and asked the guy if it was compatible with the plain old Concert stereo, not Concert II or Symphony... he replied,
"It may take a VW-R kit as it has a SAT radio button. Is the stereo double din? Dice says the Audi double din stereos with sat button uses the VW-R and displays text..."
I have no idea what double din is or what he is saying, can someone please shed some light on this for me, or if you have any input on what i should get to make this possible

You can use the adapter at the link below to plug into the CD changer cable for both iPod and AUX connections:<ul><li><a href="http://enfigcarstereo.com/shopsite_sc/store/html/DICE_I_AUDI_T2.html">http://enfigcarstereo.com/shopsite_sc/store/html/DICE_I_AUDI_T2.html</a</li></ul>

<center><img src="http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb161/jkwan422/P6060028.jpg"></center><p>I believe this should work for you, since you have prewiring to the glove box. (MikeSS, would you be able to confirm?)
I bought it used from a forum member, not knowing that my '07 was not pre-wired to the glove box![Frown](https://www.audiworld.com/forums/images/smilies/frown.gif)
retails for $150, I'll sell it for $75 + shipping if you're interested. Email me if so :P

I have the factory iPod adapter but it won't charge my 3G iPhone. Many 3rd party chargers that used to work with the 1st gen iPhone don't work with the 3G. Just as a PSA, ask the vendor if their solution is FULLY compatible with a 3G iPhone and make sure you can return it if it isn't.

I have the DICE (see sig) and it definitely, positively will NOT charge an iPhone (2G or 3G). Worse, it could damage the phone because it may supply Firewire charging voltage (12v) to the dock connector and the phone calls for USB charging (5v).
I plugged my iPhone into my DICE and it got abnormally hot. Luckily I noticed and unplugged it before frying anything.

First, thanks for all the help and input.
I'm not concerned with charging the iphone cause I have a car charged if it's needed. But if I did want to do that mike you mentioned a seperate adapter for the iPhone. Is it an adapter that plugs into the dice module in the same place the current one plugs into?
