Default i think the point is being made that the mk5 has more clearance than the A3. also....

do you happen to have a side pic of that A3?

in my email (just sent), i did request pics.

so the offset range for the 2-door A3 and 4-door A3 is the same?

a noob question, i know, but just want to confirm.

thanks!

Default I spoke to a guy who posted pics of his car on here about a year ago with 19x8.5 et 46

BBS's...225's for tires and lowered with KW's (can't remember how low) He had rubbing in the back with that setup..he figured removing the rear fender screws might fix it but never posted if it did or not....I'd like to hear otherwise but I can't see how with a decent drop et42 won't rub.

Default you mentioned above that with even factory suspension, et42 will rub

It didn't for me. No rubbing ever. 18x8 et42. Base/Premium suspension. And I wasn't driving like grandma.

When I dropped the car, I removed two screws from each corner. I drive the car harder than ever. I rub very rarely. And I love the look. I wouldn't change wheels b/c of the offset. And I would like to be as close to 42 as possible.

Default Interesting....must be that your 225's are narrower than most.

There have been lot's who have posted rubbing with et45.
I couldn't get 19x8 et48 to stop rubbing with 235's (which if you do the math would be similar to et 43 with 225's) My car wasn't dropped much then either. It sucks that it's so tire dependant.
