It doesn't have the training manuals..
One problem is shares with the online version is that far too much vertical screen space is wasted on a title bar, and two navigation bars.. This will be a problem on my 768-pixel-high laptop display. (Just measured it. only 560 pixels of vertical space useable for content. 27% wasted on overhead. The sample below shows the difference between the way it is, and the way it could be after some compaction:
<center><img src="http://webpages.charter.net/dwarner2/BentleyComp.gif"></center>
The maintenance schedule comes up "Error: File not found." (Will this be in the owner's docs?)
The "DTC Xpress" feature says "No codes available at this time" :-(
I hope these will be supplied via an update soon.
Any item that involves troubleshooting DTC's refers to: "VAS 5051/5052 connected and in mode "Guided Fault Finding"
As-is, this CD is useless if you need to find out what a DTC means. For what to do about the DTC, you'll need a good understanding of the subsystem it refers to, and a text description of the code from VAG-COM.
In this respect, it's not as good as my 94 Volvo manuals, which contained all the DTC's and related troubleshooting sequences, which usually guided me to the failed component.

They said they've fixed the display issue on the maint schedule (I guess there's an update waiting).
About the DTC list, they say:
Issue 2: DTC Xpress
The DTC Xpress functions as a searchable table of factory provided DTC codes and relevent diagnostic and repair information for technicians using generic scan tools. Unfortunately, Audi has not yet published a Generic Scan Tool repair manual for this platform yet. As soon as it is published, we will have the manual and the Generic DTC codes and diagnostic information available.
It's too bad Audi doesn't release the data that's embedded in the VAS 505x software for use by those of us who can't afford these tools.
I wonder if there's any way to extract the info we need from one of the CD's for these machines...

The online version had component location photos linked to the modules in the electrical diagram legends. In the CD version, the first page refers you to "component locations", but these documents are not linked to the diagrams themselves, are not part of them, and aren't in the main indes tree (Not that I can find) The only way I can find the component locations pages at this time, is to do a search for them.. VERY clumsy.. The locations of the electrical components should be embedded in each section, with links from those component descriptions on each diagram page.. This is extremely frustrating,..
Not the best set of service manuals I've used, but at least, they're available at a reasonable price. I paid over $250 for my Volvo manuals in 94..
For anyone interested in a comparison between Audi's diagrams and what I've been using for the last 10 years.. The following lead to reduced images of the instrument cluster section from the Audi and 94 Volvo 850 diagrams.
<a href="http://webpages.charter.net/dwarner2/AudiCluster.jpg" target="_top">Audi Cluster</a>
<a href="http://webpages.charter.net/dwarner2/VolvoCluster.jpg" target="_top">Volvo Cluster</a>
If you can't tell what an item is from the image, you have to look up the description in a fold-out legend in the back of the book.

I included screen captures, and a report that it happens on two computers. They acknowledge that there's a problem with the CD, and will fix it in an online update. In the meantime, they've given me a 30-day sub to the online version..
