A bit of a stretch, but I thought it was fun to compare lease numbers on 2006 BMW 325 wagon.

With a base of $35K, and an average price of $39K, I split the difference and chose $37K as the MSRP. The 325 wagon comes only as an awd model at the moment from what I can tell, so a better comparison will arrive with the awd DSG V6 A3.
MSRP - $37K
$1500 down as drive offs.
36 month 15K per year lease.
Monthly payment of $577+tax
325xiT Wagon
24 mo/15k mi â€" 64% Residual Value â€" Money Factor .00280 Base Rate
36 mo/15k mi â€" 55% Residual Value â€" Money Factor .00280 Base Rate
48 mo/15k mi â€" 43% Residual Value â€" Money Factor .00280 Base Rate
Just thought it was interesting to note.<ul><li><a href="http://www.leaseguide.com/calc.htm">http://www.leaseguide.com/calc.htm</a</li></ul>

Here is an example with last month's Audi rates:
An A4 Avant 2.0T starts at $31K, and when you throw the kitchen sink at it, tops out around $39K. So I'll split the difference again at $35K and run the lease numbers:
MSRP - $35K
$1500 down as drive offs.
36 month 15K per year lease.
Monthly payment of $448+tax
That's more than $100 a month less than the BMW wagon.
For contrast, here is an S4 Avant lease:
MSRP $52K (base is $48K, and high is $55K)
$1500 down as drive offs.
36 month 15K per year lease.
Monthly payment of $793+tax
To compare, here's an X5 4.8 (The E46 M3 is gone, and BMW didn't have an M3 Touring - so spec, and interior is to similar levels in S4 and X5)
MSRP $72K (base is $70K, and high is $74K)
$1500 down as drive offs.
36 month 15K per year lease.
Monthly payment of $1130+tax
