Bose speakers

to very carefully choose and install new speakers with a separate amplifier. If you adjust the amp to provide just slightly more noise up front than the standard bose in the rear you could give yourself a good quality sound with good imaging and still use the bose rear end for bass and fill. My worry would be that the separate amp and speakers would either be too loud and drown out the low from the back or that you find the front too good and then look to upgrade the rest of the system. I had a dual amp balancer in my last car which allowed you to adjust the amount of line level into the amp - such a device would let you balance the front and rear and hopefully improve image up front.
My impression of the bose system was that the rear speakers and sub were very strong whereas the front speakers were very limited. BTW the standard front speakers are made by Nokia, not Bose as in your system.
Just a thought!
