Brake Pad and Caliper Clean

I've recently purchased a 2007 Audi A3. The front passenger brake pad sometimes squeaks as it's not pulling away after I break. This is more prominent when I'm stuck in traffic and I'm constantly on and off the brakes.
I've got some copper grease so was going to take the wheel off, remove one of the bolts from the caliper and give it a clean with a wire brush and add some grease.
Silly Question - Would I need to reset the piston? Or is this only necessary when you've installed new brake pads to make room for the extra width of the pads?
Thanks
Terry
