I walk through a cold, windy parking lot and climb into my toasty, sun-warmed A3.. Nice..
Then, I start the engine, and the CC system, in an attempt to bring the interior temp down to the setpoint ramps up the blower speed to pull in as much COLD air as possible, just what I don't want when I'm already thoroughly chilled..
Seems to me, that since the system can read the outside temp, that they could assume that the driver might WANT some extra warmth if it's very cold outside, and hold down the fan speed.
(So, I have to turn it down manually, only to have to switch back to auto mode later.)

when the car is cold, it wont blast air. Once the car thinks its warm enough, it blasts air.
My problem is that I never want it to blast air, even when its warm enough and when you press the 'on' + button, itramps up the blower too fast. Why cant it just start at one bar?

then the fan setting will be fixed. When the inside temp. equalizes, turn "AUTO" mode back on.
Personally, I've never had that problem.

The outside ambient air temp is for the engine's benefit not the climate control's. It's temp sensor is built into the control unit.
