I want to colour code the bottom bits of the front and rear bumper to the
light blue/purple stock colour. If I get them colour coded will they look
ok- i was told it may not look the same colour as the rest of the car or it
my scratch off really easily!

The difference in color depends on the age of your car as the color changes a bit over the years. Your painter might have a tool that can analyse the exact color code of your car as it is now.....and that would eliminate any major difference..
Regarding the toughness of the paint then it depends on your painter. Ive had my bumpers completely painted and Ive been driving with it four 3 months and there's no problems.
Your painter just needs to spray it with some kind of "foundation" in order to get the right grip....and also to get the surface smooth as the lower part of the bumper has some structure.
Good luck and go for it....it looks cool when its finished

I want to do the same for mine also, and I agree it makes the car look _much_ better for such a cheap mod!
