As crazy as this may sound, I think I'm going to pick the A3

over the S4 Avant after driving the S4 yesterday. I'll take much less a hit on depreciation, easier to sell, looks sportier, is lighter and more tossable. Each would require the rear seats down to fit the dogs so there's no loss in utility with the A3. I think it'll serve the purpose of an around the town car better than the S4 Avant, with it's compact dimensions and lighter weight.
It begs for a rocking suspension though, so the stock springs and dampers will be removed. Then some turbo upgrades.![Big Grin](https://www.audiworld.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
Anyway, pretty sure I'll pick one up for the new year. I'll have to figger out whether the SLine is worth it with the thought the suspension will go. Any thoughts?

Not sure on color. Black, blue, gray are my top choices. I already have a 'loud' car, don't need to draw attention to the A3.

I definitely know the S-Line body looks better. It's only one of the reasons we got the S-Line in our A4. IMHO, it looks way better than a plain Jane A4. Plus, you got paddles with the S-Line on the A4 and a better suspension.
In his case, it didn't sound like the aesthetics of the S-Line body parts mattered as much. I could be wrong.

I was just going by the inference that you may not have been concerned about aesthetics as much as practicality.
If you were going to replace the suspension, which I think is one of the big reasons to go S-Line, then it sounded like non-S-Line may be a better idea.
