Damaged Gearbox at Valet Parking

Damaged Gearbox at Valet Parking
Yesterday I was going to my office in my A3 and a Ford Explorer end up in the back of my car. Got to say that the hit was heavy but nothing happened to the car besides two holes in the bumper, great shock absorbers. This mourning I went to the insurance company and left my car at the valet parking, when I was living the building non of the gears respond, a small part was broken (The part that links the gearbox with the engine) My mechanics said that the Parker force it.
Have this happen to anyone else?
