Dice iPod Connection not working well
Just installed the DICE-I-AUDI-T2 for my new 80GB ipod. I have the non-Nav, non-Bose standard Audi Concert stereo. Connection is made thru the glove box. I have the two Dice switches set to Off and the two iPod switches set to On. It runs fine via the iPod controls, but the volume control and scan controls on the steering wheel do nothing. Likewise, hitting the 1 thru five buttons on the radio do nothing comprehensible. When I set the iPod switches to Off, I get a "OK to Disconnect" message on the iPod screen. Can anybody with my components get the steering wheel controls or radio controls to do anything with the Dice device?

post in the audio forum, you'll get the answer quicker
I have dice for my 30g ipod. When I had it installed I asked them to set it on simple mode. Since we don't have text support on our oem hu's, the simple mode has a much faster respone to requests from the thumb wheels and hu buttons. Try hailing "avincar" in the audio forum, he'll know what's up.

i had the same issue...I ended up just switching all to off, so you then just control it from the ipod, which is better and quicker as far as i'm concerned....
I used to have the ice-link in my old golf, which i used through the stereo...i think it's much easier to use directly through the ipod.

those switches do NOTHING
I just installed the DICE T2 tonight, for my new G5 video iPod, and tried every possible dip switch combo and they did not make one iota of difference in operation.
That's the bad news. The good news is that it works with the radio or the steering wheel controls just fine.
Make sure you are on CD 1 and see if the Next button steps you through tracks.
Also, do you have a playlist selected on the iPod? Try manually (on the iPod) selecting a playlist first, then try the above.

All is working
Both steering controls now working. I have all switches set to off. Apparently the switch settings don't matter as pointed out by danham. This forum has been a real help with various problems I've had over the years with my 02 A4 and now the A3. Thanks for all your help on this and the Audio forum.
