the 2.0 was clearly lighter and more fun (easier to move things around!), but...
it was raining in central md today and i was able to spin the front wheels of the 2.0 while the 3.2 never had any wheel spin...also felt more comfortable driving the twisties hard with the 3.2...and the 3.2 comes with more stuff. still it is heavier (and so gets worse gas mileage and isn't quite as much fun to drive).
for my purposes, after today's drive in the rain, i will still get the 3.2.
wish they had quattro with the 2.0 -- i'd get that combination in a second.

I you found the fun quotient higher on the 2.0T (like I did), I'd recommend you drive one with sport pkg + decent rubber.
I thought the 3.2 had about the same mpg.

tires do make a huge difference. The OEM pirelli ones are plain old horrible. Besides I think in the long run u'll be happier and have more fun with a turbo engine. Much more potential inthe modding category.

you can easily go to forced induction. It's a huge hassle and would be too expensive, with questionable effects on the longevity of the motor.

I was looking at A3's today at Stevens Creek, and I really want to have the 3.2 mostly because it has Quattro and it also has a lot of extras on it.
In other ways I'd love to have the 2.0T engine and it is a good deal cheaper.
What I would like to do in some ways is buy the 2.0T in basic trim first, and wait and see if he S3 ever makes it here-if not then I'd be in a better position fiancially in a year to better afford the 3.2.
What would affect my decision is how well will the 2.0T hold it's value compared to the 3.2 ?
