Default Do some tire stores take trade ins for tires?

Thinking of getting rid of the stock P6 for some Goodyear Eagle and another set of dedicated winter tires. But I don't want to throw away the stock tires, only have 1500kms on them.

I rather not have to sell them online like ebay, does anyone know if it's a common practice for some stores to take trade ins for tires?

How much would they be worth anywaz? Thanks.

Default Once they roll.............

stores normally give you pennies on the dollar, or won't do it at all. sell them locally, or EBay them local sale only. unluckily, you'd get more if they were married to a wheel.

Default I was thinking about this too

I get my '07 s-line (6M, tech, cold, open sky) tomorrow!! Finally!

I am already convinced that the P6s will have to go for summer driving, but not yet convinced they need to be replaced for Seattle winters (45 degrees, rain, etc). I've thought of trying to get a decent dollar on trade, but have come to the conclusion I would be lucky to get $50 for the 4 of them (even if I replace immediately). Which leads me to my question... anyone tried siping these tires? I figure if I am going to trash (get rid of anyway), may as well try for the cold wet months. Any thoughts? A lot of reviews across the net seem to say this may address what many complain about with these tires.

Default I live in Vancouver BC, I think our weather conditions will be very similar

Interesting thoughts on the siping. I didn't even know about this. Hmmm......

Sell them via a local venue. Newspaper, internet, etc. You'll probably get more in Spring.

How about siping the P6 for the winter and getting the Eagles for summer?

That's my plan! Except with KDWs (235s if I can get them to fit on a conservative vogtland drop)

Default Yes they do. They may give you $15-25 credit per tire.

You are better off selling through ebay or some other way. More profit. I sold one of my P6 (from my previous Audi) for somewhere around $55 plus shipping.
