Default Does A3 have full-side jacking points?

I was replacing the squeal-like-a-pig brake pads on my Volvo today, and the convenience of doing one side at a time like this made me wonder if the A3 has jacking points that can be used to lift both wheels on one side off the ground...

This also makes tire rotation much faster.

(The Volvo has a lug at this point for the trunk jack, but, with a pad filling the cup on the floor jack, it works perfectly when positioned under this lug.)

There is not an official one. However if you use a long board with a longitudnal slot in it along the jack rib it will support the weight ok

Default A4 experience with full-side jacking

I haven't done this with my A3 yet, but my A4 could be jacked high enough using a floor jack on the front factory lift point that both wheels were off the ground.

But more to the point, you should be using jack stands anyway for anything more involved than tire rotation (like doing the brake pads), so it's moot, right? I mean, you're not sticking your head into the wheel wells with the car supported only by a hydraulic jack are you [shudder]?

Default Good idea; Slotted board, with a few embedded magnets to hold it up..

I'll have to work out some arrangement to make sure I don't drive off with it, such as a warning flag to stick on the steering wheel.

And, yes, I use jackstands if my head is under the car..

again. I have done this on a New Beetle and a TT, with the same style jacking ribs as the A3. Those worked great putting the jack about where the driver's butt would be for front/rear positioning.
