Does anyone know where I can get the aluminium roof rails in the US?

looking at that diagram, the large holes are on the inside...so small holes on the outside may be...
the only requirement to retro fit the rails (if the factory cut the interior key holes). From the first image, I would expect dealing with the air bag to be the biggest problem.

Does anyone have a picture of the A3 with Aluminum rails optioned?
I'd guess the aluminum rails could be special ordered $$$ on a US vehicle?? While in Germany next week if I stumble across any A3's with these rails, I'll snap a shot or two... Cheers, MS

You're right.. Might be worth a look to see if the keyholes are stamped in all cars.
Only round holes to drill in the outside.
Still, removing the headliner (and airbags) is a big job..

yes, although some basebars may be hard to find in the US. see thread.
