Does Audi have any plans for an A3/S3 in a standard with Quattro (Torsen or Haldex)?

I love the way it looks, and am looking at moving out of the B5 S4 that I've owned for eight years to a newer Audi. I don't want to go to Subaru, and I just feel like the A3 would be a perfect platform, but I can't get over the fact that they don't have a manual offering with Quattro...

They have manual with Quattro now but only the 2.0t I believe. It is Haldex Quattro.

That's great news if it's true, although audiusa.com doesn't have a manual/quattro option. I'm heading to the dealer on Saturday though, and I'll definitely find out for sure.

I read it as an option:

What did the dealer say?

Check the 'Features and Specs' section.

I'm with you on this... all I want is a 6sp wth Quattro. Sadly though, the website doesn't say the options are all available together... it only says it's available with the 2 different transmissions and that quattro is optional. But not independant of each other.

Maybe the next A3 version, due out in a couple of years will fix this finally.

"...I've come to realize that the B5 S4 is such a compelling bitch. Every time you look at her, or walk away after you park her, she's trying to convince you to get back inside, and do what you both do best. I don't know if I'll ever be satisfied with any other car..."

Did you like read my mind? I've 167k on my B5 baby and she still thrills. Bring that generation back and I'd buy another in a heart beat. Good luck with your search. I am looking too. I just can't bring myself to buy a Sub. And I want an A3 with Quattro and six speed. Audi, how about a little love here?

I'm sure there are a lot more like us out there. I'm actually hoping that Audi has some tricks up its sleeves and will deliver once the economy evens out. Worse comes to worse, I might seriously consider the new S4 in the fall, as long as it's priced reasonably.
