Default DOOR SEALS

Car been in to dealer today - again!
This time they have applied "KRYTOX"(Is that the right spelling)
The poor gear change has them baffled though, they will report back when they hear from AUDI
I told them that I have been on this forum let's see if it carries any weight

Default How are the seals now?

Hi Pete,

Doubt this forum will carry any weight at all. I doubt it is read by anyone from Audi UK.

If you want weight, I think Club Audi (and Daniela) has a good relationship with Audi UK. So it might be worth speaking to Daniela or writing directly to Audi UK.

However, on saying that, I wrote to Audi UK when my problems first started. I had a meeting with a Regional Technical Manager etc. and my interior is still as crap it has always been! Its pissed me off that much, I've almost given up now...they've won.

Default Re: How are the seals now?

Too early to tell, they had the car all day and gave me an A6 1.8T W reg only 1k miles.
I was surprised by the power in this size of car, but not at all impressed by the ride (far too soft for my liking)
When I went to collect my car I saw a very nice S3 in silver, I spoke to the owner who has had no problems but had just test driven a beautiful S4 in blue with full leather and BOSE he was contemplating trading up (I'm not jealous, honest)

Default Peter, follow my lead and get the stuff home yourself...

I spent some time and effort in relubing the seals and mine are absolutely silent - the age old saying "if you want a job done properly...." many might disagree and say it is the garages responsibility but pah! i'd rather lose an hour of my time and do it well that go back again and again.......

Where can I get this stuff? Is it a VAG product?
