Driver's side electrics don't work - New A3 S-Line

My husband got his new A3 yesterday only to find the central locking, windows and indicator doesn't work on driver's side, although the petrol cap on the driver's side does lock through central locking. Any ideas what the problem might be? The regulator motor in the door has been checked and isn't the problem.

From the " petrol cap on the driver side" I assume you are driving on the wrong side of the road. Having said that, we would not hold it against you, BTW, why are you, not him, are on this site
.
All these functions have separate fuses, so I think the simple explanation would be that there is no power to the driver side, maybe was not connected during assembly?

I looked closer, there is a "vehicle electrical control unit (right)" in the fuse box - not sure whether it includes everything on the right side of the car, but it may be the culprit.
