Default ESP question

someone posted a while back that holdng the ESP button in for 3 seconds wil turn it off completely, true? and if so, how do you know it turned off? If you just press it, it gives you the indicator but it doesnt change to something else after 3 secs or beep or anything.

Default Re: ESP question

My manual says that if the ESP is off, you will see the icon of the "slippery" road sign permanently on the dash display.

Default right but there's also an off off

which is more than just the simple push button off that doesnt actually turn it off, just makes it less active.

Default

I get the slippery sign with one push, and "esp off" text on the DIS when I hold it.

Default I simply don't get turning ESP off at all unless: Turning ESP off w/ DSG gave complete conrol of DSG

shift points including holding in gear at redline.

Otherwise, with FWD, I rather like the nannys. OTOH, turning off DSC (AKA ESP) in my Bimmer, due to the aggressive intervention, turning off DSC can be a bit entertaining as it's a rwd car.

Just my dose centavos.
