Default No such luck. It's to buy US-spec cars, but take "delivery" in Europe.

You order here, you fly to Europe to take delivery, then drop it off somewhere there where they then load and ship it to your dealer.

Default If you're in the U.S. on a visa, I believe you can bring your own car since it won't be here on a

long-term basis. Otherwise, you'd have to have the car federalized which can be very expensive--especially if the chassis has never been crash tested over here. For instance, Bill Gates had a Porsche 959 which he couldn't drive in the U.S. because Porsche wouldn't allow the 959 to be crash tested. It stayed impounded for years.

Default Probably possible, but I don't think it's part of the announced European Delivery program.

There are probably outfits that specialize in bringing over cars not available in the US, but my guess is the prices are high, the cars would be difficult to insure for a reasonable amount, and a host of other things.

Default As long as you are a foreign national you can bring it for up to a year...

Then either send it back or crush at a yard and prove it to them(a hard way around the law) but possible.

Btw, Bill's 959 was federalized later on. $$$ talks.

Default Very odd laws...

So, Jim-Bob in Kansas can build a car and drive it around, no problems, but zee Germans can't build a car certified for German TUV standards and run it in the states....

Grr...silly American laws...not that we are short of our own...

Can I take EU delivery of a US car, paying US prices? If so, where do I sign up?
