Default Initally that will probably be the case until dealers get comfortable with the system. it also

depends on how hot the car is that you want, and what kind of margins AoA gives dealers.

Default It seems fairly reasonable...

When I spec out an A3 they way I'd like and knock of 3%, it ends up with the dealer profit around 4.9% over invoice. According to Edmunds.com, that's slighty better than typical deals in my area and you get the Euro delivery experience thrown in for free.

Porsche actually charges a premium for doing Euro delivery, from $1100 to $2200 depending on the model. That also covers the registration and insurance for driving the car for two weeks. When I did Euro delivery on my Cayenne S I was able to negotiate a really good price, but then had to give $2200 back for the Euro delivery experience.

Default Did you get any special features with Porsche delivery? Things will probably be adjusted

with time and demand of course. Right now it seems to mirror BMW and Mercedes programs most closely.

Default cool! that might be just the excuse to tie together our Euro vacation planning

for next year, with wife's plan to replace her Jetta sometime next year also (probably with A3).

Default Yes...

with the Cayenne you get to spend time playing on their special off-road demonstration area, and also take hot laps around their test track. This is in their demo cars; not your own. We spent a full day at the factory. They also loaned a set of navigation CDs for Europe to use in the car's Nav system. That was a big help in locating hotels in the middle of the old cities.

Default It's a huge part of why some dealers suck. They stuck around during the bad times

operating on a shoestring. Now they continue with the same mindset, and AoA can't or won't cut them off the franchise.
