Its basically like superglue with a suction cup.. you stick it down then pull up on something that draws a vacum in the cup area.. this pulls the glue out just enough to fill the chip.
I used it once on a chip that probably would have started to crack if I had not done it. All the other times the crack started instantly.

Not replacement, but repairing the crack. You can get a crew to come over to do it while you're at work. Your insurance company will probably recommend someone and they will bill them directly.
I'm looking at the truck traffic on the road I take to work every day (one time a friggin meteor hit my windshield and I had to replace the entire bloody thing) and I'm wondering whether I'd want to put my poor A3 through this. :-)
