I'm new to the forum but judging by some of the positive feedback that I rec'd from previous Q re S3 vs A3 essential diffs..my next Q relates to the pros cons and legality of chipping, - bearing in mind the 1.8T Sport (non Q) is a Company car and I would wish to return it to factory spec when my lease expires (but will prob purchase as 2nd car at preferential rate from leasing co.)
Your collective comments and opinions most welcome on any of the above...

depends who chips it for you - superchips have been know to leave their signature on the chip which can be detected from the VAG tools - plus if you open the ECU there is a different and very clearly marked chip there.
What to do is use a company that reprograms the standard chip such as AmD. Their chip is undetectable to VAG tools, imsurance companies etc so it is not worth advising them of the re-programming. Stricty speaking, you should declare the mod, but if nobody can detect it then what is the point?
