Default Could someone please explain to me the relation between roll and worn sidewalls?

Because I think it's backwards: Roll compresses the suspension and reduces camber. Less camber means that the sidewall of the car is angled away from the road surface, not towards it. Therefore, excessive roll would reduce the chance of sidewall wear.

There is a well known reason for sidewall wear: underinflation (for whatever is being done to the car).

If it were really the roll that caused sidewall wear, we would use a different term for the condition of the car: tipping over.

Comments, please?

Ali

why, because you don't agree with the data, do you dismiss the data? That's foolish!

Default Re: i have the same concerns

drive other cars. For the money, if you want a 'fun' car the GTi is a better bet than the A3.

Default What's your point?

Chevy is still using a pushrod V8, which is more than 40 years, and they're still getting rave reviews from the motoring press. Again, what's your point?

Default do you read? or do you just chose ignorance because it's bliss?......

my point is that the post above is not accurate; the VR6 engine is more than 15 years old, not 2 years old.
Can anyone on these boards read?
Product of modern education I presume?

So I ask you: What's YOUR point?
