Default GTI - Base price is $22,350 + destination in 2 door form. Add another $500 for when 4 door arrives

Base cars will have 17 inch wheels, single stage xenon headlamps, in-dash CD changer, and trip computer as standard equipment. You get the manually adjusted single zone climate control (you get dials to fiddle with). No under seat storage cubby from what I hear. I'm sure plenty of other details will be different.

Looks like 2 doors arrive in Feb, and 4 doors in June.

It rides on a 15mm higher suspension than seen in Europe. Apparently the Sport mode on the DSG is not as aggressive as the European version. Wonder if that applies to our A3s as well?

No pricing, but here are options:

DSG is a stand-alone option. Probably around $900.

Package #1 will include: sunroof (standard type) and sat radio (comes with 3 month trial offer) - $1460 on the GLI

Package #2 Includes: package #1, dual climate zones, heated front seats, washer nozzles, top sport seats with leather seating surfaces - $3200 on the GLI

XM radio - $375 on GLI

Sirius radio - $375 on GLI

17 inch all season tires to replace high performance summer tires - n/c on GLI

18 inch Hufweisen alloys with high performance summer tires - $750 on GLI

DVD based naviation with 6 disc CD changer (must be ordered with package #1 or #2) - $1800 on GLI

Destination charge is $615

Colour choices are: black, red, white (all non-metallic), metallic silver and metallic medium grey.

Probably old news for some of you, but I thought it would be nice to have a reference on this forum.

Why would DSG in Golf be half the price than in A3?

Default Not sure - and perhaps my info is wrong. Got pricing from dealer lists.

Not much difference. The A3 is a no brainer.

Default Well, some people will want the 2 doors, and the GTI will probably be more sportily suspended.

Probably missing a slew of amenities when compared to the A3 though, so it will be a matter of needs and preferences.

The A3 doesn't look like the old Civic Si - which could be a good thing or bad thing ;-)

Default It only rumours, but the rumours come from Jamie at VWVortex.

About as reliable a source as we can get until an official release.

If you look at the dealer order guides in the PDF posted below, the package break-down seems set - just no pricing for the moment.

Default better colors

Thanks for the info. I want to see the new GTI in person but it looks great in the photos. interior looks real nice (and I've seen the GLI which has the same interior). Too bad they don't offer some more interesting colors, like yellow, orange, bright blue. Boring silver/red/black.
