Default GTI/GLI side mirrors

One of the (many) things I liked about the GTI/GLI models is the side mirrors with built-in turn signal indicators. They are really nice. I wonder if they'd be compatible with the A3? And if brushed aluminum caps could be found for them, wow--that would be quite a nice setup. Has anyone here swapped out their side mirrors for something else with signal lights built-in?

Default While the inbuilt turn signals are nice, I don't like the GTi side mirrors-they are too small

When I was test driving recently I really found them too small, the standard ones on the A3 are much more usable.

Default Good point... last car I drove was the GLI and I can't remember how the A3 looks

Although the signal in the side mirror is a nice visibility feature, the one in the fender is certainly sufficient. I do like the clean look of the S4 mirrors too. Maybe a matte finish aluminum covering is the way to go.

Default don't the stubbies have "wide-view" glass in them?

i like the appearance of the stubbies, but my priority, like you, is function

you'd get accustomed to the wide-view pretty quickly, i'd guess, and as far as aethetics, i really do lub the stubbies
