Default GTI vs. A3 Backseat Room? Same or different?

I currently have a S4 but looking at maybe moving to a MkV GTI 4dr or A3. I noticed the GTI has more leg room in the back compared to my S4. How does the A3 compare to the GTI in terms of leg room? Same or less?

Cheers,

Chuck

Default depends which S4 you have....

the A3 has 34.8in of back leg room

the b5 s4 has 33.39in

the b6 s4 has 34.3in

the b7 s4 has 34.2in

the mkv gti has 35.3in

got all this info from motortrend

Default Honestly, the head rests really impede on comfort in the A3 rear seat. You must extend the

headrests to full height so the person can lean back. Otherwise the headreasts at the lowest position push the shoulders way far forward leading to a very cramped seating position.

Default Headrests low enough to contact the shoulders won't do their job.

So they should be extended higher for those passengers.

Default Re: GTI vs. A3 Backseat Room? Same or different?

I run an A3 and my wife runs a Mk.V GTI. I would say that the two are essentially the same for legroom but (regrettably) the GTI is more comfortable in the rear. We always take it on long journeys for this reason. Worth a mention on this subject is that quattro A3s have the higher boot (trunk) floor to accomodate rear diff. This makes a big difference. IMHO the GTI is more fun to drive if going for a blast and the A3 is the better cruiser. This makes the fact that the A3 is worse in the rear a bit frustrating!!! The GTI is prone to rattles. The A3 has none and never has. I'll stop there for now...
