Guys can some one educate me on this one? I know the TT and A3 are Torsen based so that they can have the DSG Tranny, the other A models as of yet cannot due to Haladex systems...
Can someone give me a defination of both and why DSG will work with one and not the other?
TIA.

and have Haldex systems. The Torsen system is for longitudinally-mounted engines. I don't know of any Torsen-based models that offer DSG. The A3, TT, and VW R32 are the only Haldex models that I know of that do.

It's that they were designed to work with a specific layout.
It's not that DSG will not "work" with a haldex or torsen system... It's that the TT and A3 (same platform) use a transverse engine layout. And only the haldex system is designed to work with transverse engines.
