Default haldex oil and filter change, ....

hey now kids,
audiworld search is complete, and after reading through it all, it is obvious there is a lot of confusion among dealerships,
let alone, do-it-yourselfers.

if someone here with a quattro A3 could please search their service interval materials, and report back what audi is currently calling for, at what mileage intervals, i would be grateful. also looking for any related tsb's.

i am trying to put together a picture of solid information on this very critical preventive maintenance procedure.

i want to dispel false information that is rampant, and post a true story.

i already seem to be an unwilling expert on the maintenance of this system, but i want to include audi's current maintenance schedule for the gen.2 haldex system.

help is appreciated, and will benefit all of us.

i also welcome any related questions.

Bentley says 35K miles (55km) and 75K miles (115km).

Default from the mainenance schedule

15k: Haldex clutch - Change oil (where applicable)
35k: Haldex clutch - Change oil and filter (where applicable)
55k: Haldex clutch - Change oil (where applicable)
75k: Haldex clutch - Change oil and filter (where applicable)
95k: Haldex clutch - Change oil (where applicable)

I'm assuming 'where applicable' means on cars equipped with such. Looks like every 20k or so which is what I did on my R32, even though the the VW dealer looked at me like I was crazy when I asked them to change the oil at 20k since it wasn't in the schedule.

Default from the mainenance schedule - thanx this sounds proper, however, ....

my recent experience with haldex failure, and with a couple of top techs suggests

follow the recommendation at 15k, but then add filter change to all the following 20k intervals

Default That is the correct schedule.

I just talked to Audi today about this. 15k and then every 20k after. I am having my 35k done tomorrow.

It only mentions Haldex fluid at 35K, no filter. The service advisor mentioned the maintenance book is generic and the earlier service mentioned only applies to the TT. I also have a copy of the previous 2 pages that cover the 15K and 25K service if anyone is interested.(You can view them in the picture poster)

1st Page of 35K Service Circular

This page is confusing to me. The 3.2l on '06 A3s is not FSI.

don't let it confuse you, the issue here is the haldex unit, not the motor
