Went into Halfords today, had a look at those High Performance bulbs. Now they stock Bosch items (same make as OE bulbs in Audis) and they do a High Performance range too. Same claim of Xenon technology with 30% brighter light. But no disclaimer on the Bosch box unlike the Halfords "not recommended for high milage drivers". I wonder if the Bosch ones will last longer. They are £20 each compared to Halfords @ £10.
Had a look at oil, best Castrol could do is 10W 30. Halfords own make could do 5W 30. But could not see any 0W 30. Asked some 12 year old working there if they stocked any, he tried to claim that such an oil would not work in cars as it is to thin? I tried to argue that my manual says i need it but he said that "Halfords stock every single type of oil required for every car on the road" Yeah right.
John do you use the Autoglym Extra Gloss Protection on your car?

From Amsoil Homepage:
"Passenger car and light-truck engines today are built for fuel efficiency and power. AMSOIL Series 2000 Synthetic 0W-30 Motor Oil optimizes efficiency and power without the sacrifice in wear protection that comes with many fuel-efficient, low-viscosity oils.
Testing shows AMSOIL Series 2000 Synthetic 0W-30 Motor Oil dramatically outperforms popular conventional and synthetic motor oils of much higher viscosity in wear protection."
Mobil also has 0W 30 oil - and have had so since '97...

0W 30 oil from AmsOil

Yeah, it's a little bit more work but definately worth it, it's like rain-x for your paintwork, much better than just wax/polish, you have to polish with normal polish before you can apply it, also the easiest way to remove it is with a soft towel(you know bath/hand towel!) rather than any other cloth as this tends to not crud up with the stuff as it comes off, try it both ways and you'll see what I mean!
