Default There is no DSG QTR anywhere. Doesn't exist. So why sell a car (stick/QTR) that will be

a fraction of that 20% of stickshift cars when the total is 10,000 cars a year and the cost of federalizing it is considerable? The margins on the A3 are apparently very tiny, so passing along another $1750 for QTR and maybe another $1000 in federalization costs to the consumer would make it very pricey indeed. How many people would pay almost $3K extra for QTR?

We get 3 of the 5 possible driveline permutations for the A3. Not bad for a car imported in very limited numbers. Now if it was some kind of mass market car it would be different, but this car is very much a gamble and in the first year we've already got a lot more choices than Audi gave us with the TT for the first few years it was available.

Re: Rest of world already gets the 2.0T quattro - but with 6MT, not DSG.

I'm missing something in this translation. The A3 3.2 is a quattro with DSG, right? What is "QTR"?
