Default how dirty does lava get?

I am close to placing an order for an A3 and trying to decide between silver and lava. The lava is beautiful but is so close to black that I'm worried it will always look dirty unless I wash it weekly (which I'm far too lazy to do ;-)).

For those of you with lava, how does it hold up?

Thanks!

I think this is a personal opinion question, but in the 3 weeks we've had our car, I think it's the perfect color for lazy people. It just goes from a sparkling grey to a dull grey.

I wash my lava A3 5-6 times per month. I also wash a silver A3 2 times per month b/c my gf is lazy. Of course her car looks cleaner than mine if they are both dirty. But when they are both clean, mine will look cleaner. The pearl effect in the lava is more of a metallic paint and looks uncredible.

Default I wash mine every couple of weeks. Lives in garage 50% of time.

It's a dirty little piglet right now, since they are paving the street outside the house.

Silver is much easier, but not as unique. You can always go through the colour charts for the other Audi models and choose a grey in-between, like Oyster, Atlas, Akoya, etc. It's another $1400 or so to special order, but you'll have an easy to care for colour and your car will be unique.

I think they've upped it to $2500 for special order paint.

Default Dirty, not as bad as black, but worse than silver.

...but then again, do you really want to be one of the 8 billion silver exterior black interior cars on the road?

Good call on the silver. EVERY new car is silver these days.

Default yep, that's the main reason I would go with Lava

Too many silver cars out there.

I do really like the A3 black interior, though, esp. with the contrast stitching in the Sport package

I used to have a black car many years ago that looked dirty within a day or two of a washing (esp. in the Seattle rain), so I swore those off. I imagine the lava isn't too much worse for showing dirt than my cactus green S4 is, though.
