feedback on the front wheel drive versus the quattro. We have had several Audis and love the safety aspect of the quattro.
She just took a new sales gig and will be traveling around 500-800 miles per wk. The other car we are lookign at is the A4 3.0 Avant. Thoughts?
We live in West Viginia so we def. get some snow. Thanks all!

...but with 4 snows it will be a competent winter driver. Otherwise be prepared for the "sideways shuffle" when trying to start moving on inclines. LOL
Most any car, when properly equipped with snows, can be a good winter vehicle. You will run into problems if you drive like an idiot, or run into snow deep enough that the front air dam turns into a snow plow.

ESP is very good. Even better than it was in my 2002 GTI (4 years doesn't seem like much time to have such an improvement)
If you're a competent driver in the snow, you should have little to no problems at all, even in larger amounts of snow. If you're not comfortable driving in the snow, then buy a quattro.
We drove ours all winter, in some nasty conditions on the crappy pirellis, and had no "unsafe" scenarios, all winter.

I used to have a B5 (98) A4 2.8 quattro and so far I have not missed the quattro. With the ESP advances made between 98 and 07, I feel just as in control and safe as I did with the A4.
