How much $ can I expect to be asked to put down to order an '08 A3?
Just looking for some general guidance. A long time ago a dealer said $1k, and then another said $5k, which I thought sounded rediculous.

interesting. I've wondered about this rep. if he's lame again I wonder if i should just talk to
someone else there. I don't want to cause bad blood, but if he's attempting theivery, well his loss is how i see it.

it depends on the dealer and wut packages u want.....
cos i think dealer always tries to sell stock first....like even tho its 08 they would hv to order cars for their stock, but if u need or dont need some specific packages then its a different story

I had to deposit $2,000, but
that may have been because it was their first 3.2 and also that I wanted it without the open-sky. I ordered it at Audi Santa Barbara. The deposit was refundable btw.

My package combo isn't anything wild, and I'm buying in the Bay Area, if possible Rector Motors.
But I'm preparing the shop around. The person I spoke to months ago was way above the Edmunds average, so I just spoke to someone on the phone tonight.
