Default How much off MSRP for an A3 w/ few options -- in Seattle?

I'm having a hard time believing I need to pay $500 below MSRP for an A3 manual w/ sunroof as only option. I expected to get a bigger discount off MSRP.

What's been your experience in the Seattle area?

thanks
pablo

Default What do you expect?

There's barely $1,600 from invoice to M.S.R.P.

This is not an A4....

Default Bite the bullet

I have 2 buddies out here (Seattle) that bought them with no discount at all. And on top of that, they are previous Audi owners. So, $500 off MSRP looks pretty sweet. That's what I got mine for. From what I hear, they don't make much off these things anyways. Besides, it's a great warranty.

FYI, I got mine at Barrier.

Default Costco auto program

Have you checked Costco auto program? Costco auto program price for A3 is invoice + $750 here in CA.

I'd shop around a bit more. Plenty have negotiated $500 to $1k over invoice.

Default Indeed . . . seems odd that they'd make the same off of a lesser priced car versus a more equipped

car . . . oh well . . . one of those things i'll never understand.

Pablo:
Assuming you want a standard (no charge) color option, MSRP is: $26,560 and invoice is $24,719. Both these figures have destination charge factored in.

Assuming you want one of the $450 special option colors:

MSRP $27,010
Invoice $25,129

Default Fine print usually allows for exceptions due to inventory flucuations or special demand.

Usually cars with less equipment aren't discounted as much as loaded cars. There is often something on a loaded car that somebody doesn't want, which causes the dealer to cut a bit more slack. A basic car can often be used to TV, radio, or newspaper ads - since it produces the most attractive lease/purchase numbers to grab the attention of buyers.

Very popular car in Seattle, FYI. Try Robert Jobs in B-ham.
