We haven't had any issuues yet. The biggest complaint I have seen is the Open Sky latch breaking. Not really a reliability issue in my book, definitely a pain.
The A3 is well built and, IMO, well worth what you pay!

at 39K miles now, car is an early 2006 model so one of the first. Reliability has been surprisingly very, very good. Car starts right away each time, no fitment/squeak issues, etc. Very very tight vehicle.
The only issues: In early Dec the car was in for a 35K mile service and the techs found a torn CV boot and a slight leak out of a plastic coolant flange on the engine (~$25 part). The boot tear looked like a freak factory failure (overtightened clamp). I have heard of no other CV boot issues on the message boards, nor have I heard of any coolant leak issues.

the question over and over, so they don't bother to post when the subject comes up every week. You'll get a much better idea if you search.
