How's the reliability of the DSG turning out to be?

I don't own an A3. But has the DSG been like the CVT transmission where it has its gliches and costs approx $9K to replace?
I don't understand why Audi doesn't put DSG on higher horsepower engines.

Bugatti Veyron
-> 64v W-16 cyl quad turbo
-> 7 speed DSG and AWD
-> 0-60mph in 2.9 seconds
-> 0-200mph in 14.0 seconds
-> 1/4 mile in 10.8 sec @ 140mph
-> Top speed of 252mph
-> MPG: 7 city/10 hwy
I've always wanted to experience what the Coyote felt when he was strapped on an Acme rocket chasing the Road Runner. This car should do nicely![Big Grin](https://www.audiworld.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)

One made to fit into a small space. The other is made to deal with an insane amount of power.
They're also made by two separate manufacturers.
A3/TT DSG - Borg/Warner
Bugatti - Ricardo

So far the 2.0T with DSG has been able to handle an APR Stage III+ Turbo kit with no problem.
also they have been testing the 2.0T motor with a DSG with a nitrous setup, and so far they have 13,000 miles on the car, and no problems with the DSG tranny.
so far it's held up better then most expected, and they are innovating to add upgrade parts for it to provide the ability to hold more power and more torque.

as I did with 6speed manual in my TT. It's tough getting used to the fact that when I'm in manual shift mode, it's only half-manual (going up in gears, not down).
I'm finding that I'm not using the manual mode as much as I was originally expecting... but then, I am NOT complaining about the relief from having to shift in dense traffic. VERY relieved. ;-)
