I hope no one here has had to endure what's going
on in New Orleans or the Gulf Coast for that matter. I know this is off-topic and subsequently labeled as such, but it's just appalling to see what is transpiring!

These folks are a small minority. Most people who are looting need food, medicine, and water.
Unfortunately that doesn't make for good TV. I lived there from 93 - 2000 and have many great friends there who have lost all their worldly possesions. Also, I talked to a couple of guys from my old guard unit who are on the ground there and have been told the true scene is much worse than pictured. Basically all the inmates at Orleans Parish Prison have been released/escaped and are a major source of the shooting/assaults/rapes happening.
