With all of the requests I got via email this week with requests for stereo and interior info, I figured it may interest a few of you if I posted these images. Some of which display the crappy paper factory speakers being pulled apart - they are glued on. Others show you where the factory sub is located. My favorites are the shots of open-heart surgery (dash wiring everywhere)... Enjoy.

P.S. sorry if there are doubles. I need to clean up my photo bucket.

Very clean install. Unreal speakers, high recommend Focals. The Alpine is incredible, the head unit has over 500 colors to choose from, allowing a perfect match with your dash.

Default That sub is sexy

I'm starting to get really tired of the stock sound system, especially when I make the transition from my home/office and Grado SR225 / Etymotic ER-4s to the car :-( Brahms just sounds terrible.

Anyway, when I think about getting a new system installed, my main worry is that when everything is put back together I'll have more creaks and rattles than I already have from the doors and dash. I'll need to get the install done professionally, which doesn't make me feel any better...

Default Ryan, total overkill. You gave up all the benifits of the hatch for a unique system

I love your work and your comittment to A3 modding and home theater, but if you use your A3 for what it was intended, your use of the hatch for over the top systems, you loose a little bit of what makes the A3 attractive. But a tip of my hat to your love of this sweet car. Just not very practical for most of us. I also did a stereo upgrade, but with parameters of keeping it sweet and stock. Custon fiberglass sub in the right corner, sweet front upgrades of the speakers and tweeter, amp, and kept the oem hu. That said, I really do like what you have done.

Quick Reply: I was told that I could listen to the radio at a reasonable volume from 9-11. A3 STEREO PICS!
