iPod Connector In$tallation
I ordered the connector from my dealer when I picked up the car 2.5 weeks ago. The connector came in on Saturday so I made an appointment to get it installed today. They estimated about 1 hour worth of labor to install it. Not great but to me its better than risking screwing up my brand new car.
I show up for the appointment this morning and now they claim it will take approximately 3.5 hours! :-O Yes folks, they are estimating $325 (that's three-hundred and twenty-five dollars, had to repeat it...) worth of labor!!! OMG!
Has anyone else had the dealer install a connector? How long did it take? This is only the 2nd connector they've installed so I wonder how much I am paying for them to learn how to install it.

I've said it before: it cost me $5 to connect my iPod to my Mitsubishi
...via a standard line-in jack on the *front* of the head unit. Audi needs to pay more attention to the quality/design of their stereos.

Wrong KIT...DO NOT INSTALL , this is not the right kit for an A3...
This kit will disable the SAT radio if installed per the instructions.
There is supposed to be a specific kit for the A3 that plugs into the CDC harness. I am not sure if it is avalable yet. You should not have to remove the radio.
However, if the dealer will not take it back have a car-audio place add a VW 12-pin CDC connector as per my write-up.
