You can get an aftermarket DICE ipod adapter which is highly recommended.
You can contact the people at: http://enfigcarstereo.com/shopsite_s...audi_ipod.html and they can point you in the precise direction needed.

Looks like a good solution. Doesn't seem to be a lot of information on how this interface works. What cable plugs into where? WIll it sound clean? I assume you control song selection and all on the ipod itself, and volume through the Audi concert controls?

I have a 2008 A3 and it had a factor installed Ipod dock mounted inside the glove box, no cable, it just snaps into the cradle. I believe it was included in the Premium Package.

Did your A3 have the cable connection for the Ipod or a dock in the glovebox?
I'm thinking of extending the factory installed dock with the Cablejive cable and wire it out from the glovebox so I can view the Ipod's screen. I'm concerned though because when I plug the Ipod into the dock, the screen goes white and shows the Audi rings, shutting off use of the buttons (all functions controlled by the concert radio). I'm worried that if I send away for the cable and do the rewiring, the Ipod will be free from the glove box but it won't show anything on the screen, therefore making the whole project a waste of time.
Has anyone else attempted an extension on the Ipod dock like this?
