Im n Arlington VA, and agree with you Scott, its tough justifying this monthly payment, alhough I do love this car, I just crave a manual at times.

But with your car being 1-2 years old, you're looking at probably 30% loss from the price you paid, at best. My guess is it'll cost you a few grand, plus the additional few grand you'll put down on the A3 for down payment and taxes. Not to mention, you'll be getting another new car which will loose it's value quickly in the first two years.
But, like I said, if it's something where you value having the A3 moreso than the loss of money, then go for it. Both cars are quite nice.
I'll do an even trade for you if you want.

The A3 is a fun car and can be can be tweeked to run close to your S4... if you get the 2.0. The problem with that is FWD. You really learn to appreciate Quattro when you get into a FWD car.
