If you believe this article, helps prevent the vinyl breaking down

Im not sure how credible you consider this website, but I've found personally that I get almost no film on the window at all after switching to something with UV protection.

condensation would be just water-wouldn't leave a film<ul><li><a href="http://www.carcareonline.com/viewarticle.aspx?art=13">vinyl care link</a></li></ul>
