for some stupid reason, turn signals work differently in BMWs than in every other car on the road. IIRC, when push them up or down, they won't move to a different position as they don't have detents, but they will remain blinking until you push them back in the other direction- but push too far and they will signal the other way. after a while, it's easier to just avoid using them.
