Manual gearbox oil change - only 0.5 ltr ???
My Audi A3 1.8 TFSI 2007 crunches gear when upshifting from 1st to 2nd (downshifting is fine). It only does this when the car is warmed up, it doesnt crunch when the car is cold.
So I decided to change the gearbox oil, I removed the filler plug then the drain plug (17mm hex), but not much oil seemed to come out.
I replaced the drain plug and started to refill with new oil (using a funnel and piece of hose pipe) but after 0.5 litre the oil started overflowing from the filler plug !
I was expecting the gearbox oil change to be a few litres, so why have I only been able to change 0.5 litre ? The car is on flat ground, I did the work without even raising the car on axel stands.
The transmission code (on the label in the boot) is BYT.
