Default Mother of all S3 bumper pic threads. And questions for vendors who provide Euro-spec parts...

<center><img src="http://i1.ebayimg.com/06/i/000/a7/58/57b4_1.JPG"></center><p>
The questions first:

All S3 bumpers that I've seen, include a European license plate filler panel. My question is... why are they all the "1-piece" type. Meaning the euro plate would be glued, 3m'd, or tacked on.
<img src="http://www.rsportscars.com/foto/08/bbs307_01.jpg">

There is a 2-piece part that is available for the standard bumper. Gray part number is: # 8P4 807 285 1QP . As you can see here, it's a 2-piece part. Part A gets drilled into the grill. Then you slide the european plate on/in. Then you put on the face, part B. Pics:

But as you can see below. The S3 euro plate frame is a 1-piece.
Q#1: CAN A 2-PIECE PART BE PURCHASED IN GRAY FOR S3 or S-LINE GRILL?

Q#2: Please confirm this info. S3 bumper requires a bumper and skin. And...

1. S3 grill and surround. OR S-line grill and surround. Both available in black and gray. Gray being cheaper.
2. S3 lower grills
3. Fogs
4. Fog light adaptors
5. Washer covers

-&gt; S-line grill has it's own series of filler panels, euro plate panels, etc.
-&gt; Same for S3.
-&gt; And standard A3 grill.

Default Ryan from Philly is getting his, son!!!

RM-Got your email, and I'll respond back through the forum as maybe it will clear things up for some other peoples.

I have a grand collection of 8P S3 pics just like some of my forum brethren, and I have never seen a "2-piece" euro-plate for the S3 grille. That includes all the times I've been on ebay.de and all the other euro and UK ebay site extensions. I obviously researched the hell out of the S3 grille before I commited to that mod.

Next up, "how to mount the euro plate." There are regular euro license plate frames that you can use as a surround so that it looks more finished. My beef with the S# grille, is that because of the bumper rebar, you cannot get behind it to unbolt your plate without removing the entire bumper. Which is a pain in the ***-portion. I bolted up my Belgian plate by using a set of skateboard mounting hardware, and I just drilled four 5/32" holes in the plate area of the bumper beforehand.

I hope my insight helps to answer some questions, my brothas, and sistas.

Default FYI...I ordered the S3 re-bar/bumper for mine instead of grinding down the factory one

I'll get it put on once things warm up a bit. (I've ordered it close to a year ago)

Default so

Standard A3, can receive the S-line grill perfectly, but you'll need to update your plate frame accordingly.

Regular A3 or S-line A3 can use the S3 grill if it gets the S3 bumper, or there will be a big gap at the bottom. It fits, but it doesn't look right IMO.
