I really want to test drive a DSG and I will before ordering.... I drive mostly in city streets. I'm accustomed to clutching for the past 7 years. Before that, an auto-tranny car I had for 2 years drove me nuts in traffic. It will be a hard choice to make and I appreciate all people on this forum giving pros and cons of the A-3 configurations.

God, now that I've driven the A4 loaner the past couple of days I can't wait to get back into my A3. The A3 is so much more fun to drive. The A4 feels bloated and I'm not that impressed with the interior actually. I do like the deep trunk space however. Golf clubs would not be a problem in the A4. Only thing that actually does feel a bit better and I'm not sure why are the brakes. Better stopping power and balance w/A4. Odd indeed.

DSG is NOT an automatic transmission, so don't compare. I thought so too, but being on this forum convinced me to give it a test drive (I wouldn't have even done THAT!). I loathe automatics but when I drove the DSG, I was sold. Cost me an extra $1,400, but what the heck. Shifts like a manual but no need to use a clutch? Sign me up!!
