Default Yes, the instructors were giving us the eagle eye when it came to cars with stickshifts.

Hubby got to drive the (only) R8 with stick, but since he was teamed with another person, I ended up with an R-Tronic. Ugh. Apparently some people are pushing in the clutch when taking corners on the track. *gulp!*

Heh, trying doing that on a bike and they'll quickly learn that's a bad idea.

Default Nice review by Nizam. It's one thing to test drive an R8--entirely different to throw it around

a track. I missed the Audi Experience in my neck of the woods--tempted to head out to the one in Sonoma. :-)

As Jethro Tull once said "Skating away... Skating away on the thin ice of the new day"

Default It is really nice to feel the limits without looking for police or clueless drivers:)

My R-Tronic version had a computer glitch that meant it would not always engage or disengage 4th gear on my command, even though all parameters were met (revs, etc). Thus on a number of corners I would sail into the turn in too tall a gear or come out bouncing off the rev limiter. The chassis did a wonderful job of telling me what was going on inspite this, letting me take corrective action in plenty of time, while never threatening to spit me off the track. I could keep up with the instructor just fine. If anything, it was an unorthodox but impressive dynamics display;-)
